Dejan Bućin Joins the Cast of Netflix’s The Empress Season 3

We are proud to announce that Dejan Bućin is part of the third and final season of The Empress (Die Kaiserin), the acclaimed German historical drama series returning to Netflix on November 12, 2026.

Bućin joins the series as Count Andrássy, the leader of the Hungarian Revolution, who crosses paths with Empress Elisabeth during her journey away from Vienna. Their encounter is marked by a strong intellectual and physical attraction and is set to become an important part of Elisabeth’s story in the final season.

Created by Katharina Eyssen, The Empress follows the life of Elisabeth, Empress of Austria, and has become one of Netflix’s prominent German-language period dramas. The first season was awarded an Emmy for Best Drama Series, while Season 2 reached Netflix’s Top 10 in more than 80 countries.

The upcoming season will bring the story to its conclusion, taking viewers across Vienna, Hungary, Mexico and Prussia as Elisabeth continues her transformation from an unconventional young woman into a politically influential figure.
