Serbian Feature FROST Premieres at Sitges, Featuring Slavic Artists Talent

The Serbian feature film FROST (Mraz), directed by Pavle Vučković, held its world premiere at the 59th edition of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia – Sitges, where it was screened in the festival’s main competition program.

The leading role is played by our client Kamka Tocinovski, an actress from North Macedonia. The cast also features our clients Vesna Trivalić, Jovo Maksić, Mirko Vlahović, Zlatan Vidović, Antonio Scarpa, Ema Muratović, and Đorđe Kadijević.

Blending drama, fantasy, and thriller elements, FROST draws inspiration from a myth originating in eastern Serbia, weaving local folklore and mysterious traditions into a suspenseful story about a disappearance that unsettles an isolated community.

The film follows Mirjana, a cynical and emotionally detached police detective who arrives in a small town to investigate the disappearance of Adela, a young woman who had been visiting the area to write a blog about local tales of magic. With no tangible evidence to guide her, Mirjana must navigate a close-knit community whose residents appear to be hiding something. As the investigation unfolds, the boundaries between reality, superstition, and the unknown begin to blur.

FROST was produced by Plan 9 (Serbia) as the lead production company, in collaboration with international co-production partners ORWO/Black Hangar Studios (United Kingdom), Film District (Serbia), Telekom Srbija, Parangal Film (Montenegro), Black Cat Production (North Macedonia), Telefilm (Croatia), CinneRent and Art&Popcorn (Serbia), as well as Vega Film and Vesna Film (Russia).
