Lazar Djurdjevic was announced as the winner of the etalenta scholarship

“We live in challenging times, and I believe storytelling has never been more important – whether it’s telling unbelievable true stories or fictional ones that inspire change,” says actor Lazar Djurdjevic in his recent interview for the eTalenta platform.

Djurdjevic was announced as the winner of the etalenta scholarship for the International Screen Acting Workshop 2025 at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. He was selected by a jury of professional casting directors from among hundreds of applicants.

Expressing his excitement for the program, Djurdjevic shared his eagerness to collaborate with fellow artists from different backgrounds: “I was eager to learn from and be inspired by my colleagues, who came from all across Europe. I remember one of my professors at my first drama school telling us on the very first day that we should always ‘steal’ from one another – in the best sense of the word – and learn from each other.

He also emphasized the importance of wider international attention for talent coming from Eastern Europe: “I would ask casting professionals to remain as open as possible and to pay closer attention to Slavic artists and Eastern Europeans in general. There are many talented, hardworking, well-educated actors in these regions with strong language skills and a real eagerness to grow.

We proudly congratulate Lazar on this outstanding recognition, and believe that this scholarship and workshop participation will further establish him as one of the most promising new voices of the European acting scene.
