Serbian Sci-Fi Epic Sanctuary Heads to U.S. Distribution

The official teaser for Sanctuary, the upcoming English-language Serbian sci-fi thriller directed by Filip Kovačević, has been unveiled following the film’s acquisition for U.S. distribution by Vertical.

Directed by Filip Kovačević, Sanctuary is a post-apocalyptic thriller set on a devastated Earth, where the discovery of a woman preserved in cryogenic suspension sparks fear and uncertainty in a desperate village. A young warrior and the mysterious woman embark on a journey in search of a lost city.

The film is produced by Đorđe Stanković, Filip Kovačević and Vukota Antunović for Void Pictures and TS Media.

Sanctuary represents more than an exciting new addition to the Serbian genre film landscape. It is another example of Serbian productions and talent reaching beyond the local market and finding their place on the international stage.

With an English-language production, an international cast and U.S. distribution already secured, Sanctuary is a great example of the increasingly global reach of the Serbian film industry and we are especially proud to see so many of our clients be part of that journey.
