Serbian Drama ‘No Fairy Dust’ by Maja Miloš Set for Belgrade Premiere Tonight
The long-awaited Serbian feature film ‘No Fairy Dust‘, directed by Maja Miloš, will have its official Belgrade premiere tonight, ahead of its theatrical release across Serbia tomorrow.
A contemporary and provocative take on the Cinderella story, No Fairy Dust follows Marija, a young ice skater living with her father on the outskirts of Belgrade. Crushed by grief because her mother died, Marija can’t express her flaming sexuality. Her father gets close to a woman who moves in with her two daughters. Marija supports her father but realizes she can’t trust her stepmother. Because of financial troubles, Marija is forced to find new jobs that introduce her to the world in which women are exploited. Her stepmother has anger outbursts that escalate into physical abuse. However, the love of the most desirable young businessman gives her strength to accept herself and her sexuality.
